Technical Requirements

Server

• To run as a server you must have a fixed domain name and full-time connection to the Internet.
• 1 MB/sec or better connection is strongly recommended.

Windows
• Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT 4.0
• P-III 800 MHz processor or better
• 128 MB RAM or better
• 500 MB free space on disk

Linux
• Linux Red Hat 6.1+ (includes 6.1, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3)
• P-III 800 MHz processor or better
• 128 MB RAM or better
• 500 MB free space on disk

Sun
• Sun Solaris 2.6, 2.7, 2.8
• Maple T.A. uses Java 1.4, so all necessary patches to support Java 1.4 must be applied first (see http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patches/J2SE)
• 128 MB RAM or better
• 500 MB free space on disk

Client – Instructors and Students

• Windows 98/ME/2000/NT4.0/XP
• Browser: I.E. 5.5+, 6.x, Netscape 6.2.2
• 300MHz processor or better
• 64MB RAM or better

Macintosh

• 56K modem dial-up connection
• Broadband (Cable Modem or DSL) internet connection is recommended for optimal performance
