Product Description:
 The Maple Utilities is a well designed, highly intuitive library of
over 100 Maple commands that greatly enhance Maple’s usability.
They provide a friendly and intuitive interface to Maple’s programming
command set, so that novice users can quickly become productive in Maple
without having to learn the subtleties of Maple’s base commands.
The library comes with an electronic user’s guide in the form
of twelve fully documented Maple worksheets. The User’s Guide includes
an overview of Maple’s built-in commands, outlining their strengths
and limitations; quick examples of each command to help you get started
quickly; and complete applications that demonstrate the true efficiency
gains you can achieve when using The Maple Utilities in large Maple projects.
Finally, a Programming Tips section reveals the tricks and techniques
used in creating these utilities, making it easier for you to add your
own customized utilities.

Darren Redfern’s book, “The Maple Handbook” became
extremely popular with new and established users alike. Darren has
edited many other titles, including Andre Heck’s “Introduction
to Maple” and Rob Corless’s “Essential Maple”.
Darren also contracted for Maplesoft on the creation of new manuals,
and organizing their first international user conference.
David Doherty began his programming career with National Trust
in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. After The Maple Utilities, Darren
and David created one of the first Natural Language search utilities
for the internet, PACprospector, which garnered much acclaim. With
the help of entrepreneur Ric Asselstine, Practical Approach was reshaped
into ThinkTank Technologies Inc., which grew to fifteen employees
and was eventually acquired by Open Text, a Canadian based company
who are leaders in Enterprise Content Management. After a few years
at OpenText, David joined Maplesoft’s GUI group, where he is
now Team Lead.
