What's New
in GRAMS 8.0
GRAMS 8.0 provides the analytical
scientist with an integrated environment in which to capture, store, process
and report data derived from multiple instrument systems. The changes in
this release are focused on incorporating new technologies developed by
the GRAMS team in recent years. It contains brand new tools built in the
latest development environment, major enhancements to the current software
and repairs requested by our customer base.
Some of the highlights include:
- Spectral DB has been enhanced to connect
to Oracle and SQL server databases. Now part of the basic GRAMS package,
the updated Spectral DB allows users to securely store and share their
spectral data. It retains its simple to use, configurable workbook format
and now complete result sets can be sent seamlessly to GRAMS.
- Envision
is a multi-format Microsoft® .NET instrument data viewer with the
capacity to host plug-in processing and reporting modules. Envision
enhances GRAMS Smart Convert technology with more than 20 new instrument
converters. It also offers support of the GAML
open standard XML instrument data format. GAML allows capture of
more comprehensive instrument meta-data and simplifies integration with
LIMS, eLN and desktop applications.
- A run-time version of Inform,
a drag-and-drop report designer built to complement GRAMS Envision,
is included as part of Envision. It allows the scientist to build standardized
reports regardless of the vendor’s data format or the spectroscopic
technique employed.
- Active Multi-file Tool allows simple construction, manipulation and
dissection of 3D data files.
- New Operating Systems. GRAMS Desktop has been tested in the XP environment
and Spectral ID server is now supported on Windows 2000 and 2003 server.
- Enhanced Security. The introduction of Macrovision FlexNet™
and the removal of hardware dongles help to ease international deployment.
- Enhanced Speed. The GRAMS start-up delay has been significantly reduced,
and new Array Basic commands have been designed to rapidly construct
21 CFR Part 11 compliant multifiles.
